Transactional and account-related emails are necessary to operate the Service. You can also manage school-alert preferences in your account settings.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to:
- keep you logged in and maintain your session;
- remember your preferences and settings;
- analyze how the Service is used; and

Most browsers let you control or delete cookies through their settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Service, including the ability to stay logged in.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share personal information only in the following circumstances:

- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.
- Public content — reviews, ratings, and other content you choose to post are visible to other users and the public.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
7. Data Security
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and hashed passwords. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Service is intended for parents, guardians, educators, and other adults, and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take steps to delete it. Note that the Service displays information about schools, not personally identifiable information about individual students.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate information;
- request deletion of your information;
- opt out of marketing communications; and
- not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond consistent with applicable law and may need to verify your identity. Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (such as Texas, California, and others) have these rights to the extent those laws apply; we do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Requests are subject to legal and operational requirements, and certain information may be retained as permitted or required by law.
