All data used for evaluating public schools across Texas have been obtained from information published by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) through the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS). PEIMS encompasses all data requested and received by TEA about public education, including student demographic and academic performance, personnel, financial, and organizational information.
The Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) pull together a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year. Performance is shown disaggregated by student groups, including ethnicity and socioeconomic status. The reports also provide extensive information on school and district staff, programs, and student demographics. These data include information on special education services provided by public schools across Texas. Interpreting these data requires integration and analysis.
This site provides a customizable scorecard for more than 8000 public schools across Texas.
Schools with higher Cumulative Score are ranked higher since they drive better student outcomes.
